美國在台協會處長酈英傑帶領協會成員出席簡任專少校和高嘉隆上尉的聯合公奠，向兩位優秀飛官的家屬慰問致意，酈英傑處長謹以以下悼辭向兩位殉職英豪致敬：
「我謹代表美國在台協會，向簡任專少校和高嘉隆上尉的家屬親友，致上最深的哀悼之意。這兩位優秀的飛官深知投入軍旅所伴隨而來的風險，卻仍選擇犧牲奉獻保衛家園。我們對兩位飛官的不幸殉職深感傷痛與不捨，但同時也向他們的英勇無私致敬。台灣陸軍軍官、士官和士兵們每天盡忠職守接受訓練，為的就是能夠捍衛台灣。簡少校和高上尉是OH-58D直升機的傑出飛官，自願帶領台灣陸軍最關鍵的偵查任務之一，偵查飛官任務特殊，不僅要執行飛行任務，更要與地面作戰部隊保持緊密聯繫。簡少校和高上尉深刻了解其任務及飛行作戰對台灣陸軍至關重要，他們體現了克盡厥職的英勇典範。台灣陸軍的共同職責為持續執行本務、勤訓精練，並建立堅實的同袍情誼。願這兩位勇敢的飛官放心安息，並永遠知道他們的陸軍同袍將繼承遺志，繼續守護台灣。」
AIT Director Brent Christensen and members of the AIT community paid respects to the families of Major Chien Jen-chuan and Captain Kao Chia-lung, whose funeral was held today. This was Director Christensen’s message:
“On behalf of the American Institute in Taiwan, I wish to convey my heartfelt sympathies to the families and friends of Major Chien Jen-chuan and Captain Kao Chia-lung. These two officers devoted themselves to the Taiwan people, knowingly accepting great personal risk in the conduct of a noble profession. We grieve side by side as we honor these two brave aviators. Each and every day, the Taiwan Army’s officers, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers dedicate untold efforts in training to defend Taiwan. As OH-58 pilots, Major Chien and Captain Kao courageously volunteered to lead one of the Taiwan Army’s most critical reconnaissance missions. Such aviators are a special type of warrior and maintain a close connection to ground combat troops even while flying among the clouds. Major Chien and Captain Kao understood their mission and the vital importance of combat aviation for the Taiwan Army. They epitomized the cavalry spirit of bravery and boldness. The Taiwan Army’s shared duty is to continue their mission, train hard, and build strong bonds with one another. May they rest in peace knowing that the Army remains steadfast and ready to defend Taiwan.”
